For many years as Northern Lights we have provided music for ceilidhs all over the North East of England, playing at a large variety of venues from schools, village halls, barns and marquees to hotels, castles and civic halls. Whether the dancers are beginners or experienced, one of our professional callers is always there to guide them through the steps and ensure that everyone has a great time.
For ceilidhs, Northern Lights will normally provide a mixture of Northumbrian, Irish and Scottish dance music, but for special occasions such as a Northumbrian music night or a St Patrick's or St Andrew’s Day celebration, the band can focus on one particular musical genre.
Music can be played before the start of a ceilidh to welcome guests on arrival, as well as during intervals in the dancing. Microphone use is available on request.
